Housing Register
If you are seeking affordable rented or shared ownership housing
in Purbeck you will need to apply for re-housing by completing a
Housing Application form. Read on for further information.
Housing Register Information
The Housing Register is a list of applicants who wish to be
considered for re-housing by the Trust and other Housing
Associations who operate in the Purbeck District.
Am I eligible to join the Housing Register?
The following groups of people are eligible:
- All persons aged 18 and over
- Persons aged 16 years or over to whom the Council owe a duty
under any of Section 192 (2), 193 or 195(2) of the Act
- In accordance with Section 160A of the Act certain people are
not eligible to be registered on the Active list as “Qualifying
Persons”. Such people may not be allocated or nominated for
rehousing under any circumstances. These exclusions are
detailed below:

How are applications assessed?
Accepted applications are registered on the Housing Register as
soon as possible after we receive the form. Applications are
assessed and placed in bands i.e. Green, Amber or Red according to
the level of housing need. In order to be sure your
application is assessed correctly you are advised to complete the
Housing Register application form as fully as possible. We
will write to you within 14 working days of receiving your
Housing Register application confirming that you are
registered on the list and the banding we have given your
application.
