Synergy Donates Old Furniture To Scouts
3/10/2010

Synergy Housing has donated their old furniture to Purbeck's
local scout hut. The Housing Group's move to the new offices in
Sandford Lane left a lot of unwanted furniture...So Synergy decided
to put this to good use.
The scouts have campaigned tirelessly to gain planning
permission for their new scouts hut and manages to raise an
astonishing £40,000 towards the build with the rest of the money
coming from organisations such as Viridor, Lions, Valentine's
Trust, and Talbot Village Trust to name just a few. Ian Davey, one
of the cub leaders says, "After two and a half years of
funding we've pretty much exhausted it."
Teh new hut was finally kitted out with chairs, book-cases,
filing cabinets, and fans - everything needed to get the group up
and running. Claire Yates, one of Purbeck's
Beaver leaders, adds, "We just want to say a huge thank you to
everyone at Synergy for their generosity. Their donation really is
the icing on the cake."
The scouts hut will be holding an official opening of their new
fully-equiped hut on 20th February 2010.
