Equality and Diversity
What is Equality and Diversity?
Equality is about making sure people from all groups, and
especially those from all groups, and especially those from
specific under-represented groups, get fair and equal
opportunities.
Diversity is about respecting, understanding and valuing
people's differences and making sure people are treated in an
appropriate way.
What we mean by equality and diversity
is:
- Providing fair services that all members of the community have
access to
- Removing barriers to access and making sure we don't
discriminate and
- Making adjustments to meet individual needs
Our Commitment to You
All members of the Synergy Housing Group are committed to
equality of opportunity and good relations with people of differing
cultures and groups. This includes when we provide housing and
other services to tenants, residents and customers, as well as our
duties as an employer and purchaser of goods and services. We will
take a pro-active approach to equality and diversity issues and
want to be known as an organisation that demonstrates good
practice.
We work with people across a wide geographical area and in many
different communities. We realise that people have different needs,
depending on many factors. If we do not meet these needs, some
people may have difficulty in using our services or understanding
the information we give. We want people to have the opportunity to
achieve their potential and not be subject to prejudice and
discrimination. This means we need to offer people a range of ways
to use our services and information and to remove any barriers.
Who Does Our Commitment Apply To?

- Anyone who applies to us for housing
