Lone Worker Monitoring Service
Purbeck Careline also provides a Lone Worker Monitoring Service which utilises any mobile phone service, so there is no need for a large capital outlay. This service enables organisations to fulfil their duty of care under Health and Safety and for staff to have a safety net in the event of a problem. If you would like to have further details on this please call Andy Wigley on 01929 558454.
How the Service Works
The service works via the special alarm unit connected to the telephone line.
The alarm unit has a built in button, which can be pressed to obtain
assistance, alternatively the alarm can be activated by a remote pendant which
is worn around the neck or on a wrist band. The range of the pendant allows use
around the house and garden.
The person requiring assistance presses the built in alarm button or the body
worn pendant, this sends signals down the telephone line to the alarm centre
where the specialist equipment is able to automatically tell staff who the call
is coming from.
Purbeck Careline uses the most up-to-date technology for receiving calls, a
Tunstall Telecom PNC 4 Hosted system and is a reference site for the company.
While service provision is dependant upon technology the staff haven’t
lost sight of the importance of providing a professional yet personal service
to all who are linked. The alarm call is answered by one of the highly trained
operators who will be able to talk to the caller without them having to lift
the telephone receiver. In an emergency, the operator will contact the
appropriate services or people.
Alarms are often triggered by accident. The operator will enquire after the
callers well-being and once satisfied that they do not require assistance,
close the call.
The Careline is a member of the Telecare Services Association and has recently recived accreditation which provided confirmation that the service fully complies with the requirements of all three of the Association's Code of practice :- The Strategic Framework, Telecare Calls handling Operational Requirements and Telecare Installation Operational Requirements.
